MTN LIMITED EDITION WILD STYLE 40TH ANNIVERSARY CAN
Wild Style is one of the seminal early 80's hip-hop films. Produced by Charlie Ahearn in 1982 and formally released to theaters in 1983, Wild Style is regarded as the FIRST hip-hop movie. The film featured seminal figures & legends from early 80's New York hip-hop and graffiti scene such as: Fab Five Freddy, The Chief Rocker Busy Bee, Lee Quinones, Lady Pink, Zephyr, Queen Lisa Lee of Zulu Nation, Patti Astor, the Rock Steady Crew, the Pop-O-Matics, The Cold Crush Brothers, Fantastic Romantic 5, Grandmaster Flash, Grand Wizard Theodore, Grand Mixer DXT, Rammellzee, Double Trouble, & Kool Moe Dee. While the content was hip-hop focused, the creative visuals were contributed by a who's who of OG classic NYC graffiti writers such as: Lee Quinones, Dondi White, Zephyr, Dr. Revolt, Sharp, Jane Dickson, Chris “Daze” Ellis, Johnny “Crash” Matos,and Noc 167. The film catapulted the global cultural exchange of music, dance & art over the following 3 decades, showcasing hip-hop and to some extent graffiti culture in its purest form. Wild Style is perhaps one of the most influential bodies of work to provide a window into the underground culture of early 80's New York City and the now infamous subway and pop art scene.
 
MTN LIMITED EDITION WILD STYLE 40TH ANNIVERSARY FAB 5 FREDDY CAN
Fred Brathwaite, more popularly known as Fab 5 Freddy, is an American visual artist, filmmaker, and Hip-Hop pioneer. He is considered one of the architects of the street art movement. Freddy emerged in New York's downtown underground creative scene in the late 1970s as a graffiti artist. He was the bridge between the burgeoning uptown rap scene and the downtown art scene. Freddy was a member of the Brooklyn-based graffiti group the Fabulous 5, known for painting the entire side of New York City Subway cars. Freddy began to transition from street graffiti into the art world. Freddy connected with New York underground filmmaker Charlie Ahearn, whom he had met at The Times Square Show, and they began production on the film Wild Style (released 1983). The film would go on to showcase artist Lee Quiñones as artist Zoro, from the Bronx, and of the burgeoning Hip-Hop culture. It was the first film to illustrate Hip-Hop culture, derived from an idea Freddy had to refute the negative depiction of NYC's urban youth and to link for the first time break dancing, MCing, DJing and graffiti under one umbrella or branches from the same tree. Freddy created the film's original music score, co-produced the film and even ended up being casted as one of the leading roles. In the late 1980s, Freddy became the first host of the groundbreaking Hip-Hop music video show Yo! MTV Raps, and directed many iconic rap videos and film projects into the 90s and beyond. To this day, Fab 5 Freddy remains a cultural icon and vanguard of the culture. 
 
MTN LIMITED EDITION WILD STYLE 40TH ANNIVERSARY REVOLT CAN
Born and raised in New York City, with graffiti roots in the early 70’s, REVOLT is an original member of the historic NYC subway graffiti crew, The Rolling Thunder Writers (RTW). Known for his ultra-colorful tags and elaborate pieces on the Broadway #1 line, with heavily influenced psychedelic and comic art stylings, and later, taking it “all-city”. With contributions to the seminal classic hip-hop films, “Wild Style and “Style Wars”, his participation in the 80’s East Village art gallery scene, various music videos and, album covers, animation, comics, vinyl toy design, and creating the classic “YO! MTV Raps’ logo. His early 80’s tour of duty in the city of Baltimore is legendary, where he, like a “Messenger of Style”, singlehandedly kick-started a graffiti scene there that still feels his influence today.
