The National Hip-Hop Museum, in conjunction with Kool G Rap and Supa Dupa Goods brings you...The Sugarhill Gang.

The Sugarhill Gang was formed in 1979 in Englewood, New Jersey, by producer Sylvia Robinson, the visionary behind Sugar Hill Records.

The original lineup included Wonder Mike (Michael Wright), Big Bank Hank (Henry Jackson), and Master Gee (Guy O’Brien).

At the time, rap was an underground movement in the Bronx, but Sylvia saw something bigger. She believed hip-hop could be more than just a street party, it could be a global phenomenon.

And she was right. The Sugarhill Gang was born, and they were about to drop a track that would introduce rap to the world.
