KMD, short for Kausing Much Damage or a positive variation, "Kause in Much Damage," was a hip-hop group formed in the early 1990s. The group consisted of Zev Love X (Daniel Dumile), his younger brother DJ Subroc (Dingilizwe Dumile), and Onyx the Birthstone Kid (Rodan). KMD's debut album, "Mr. Hood," was released in 1991 and showcased their unique blend of conscious lyrics and innovative production.

The album "Mr. Hood" received critical acclaim for its socially conscious themes, eclectic samples, and Zev Love X's distinctive flow. The first single from the album was "Peachfuzz," which gained popularity and established KMD as a promising group in the hip-hop scene. The album's narrative was inspired by the character Mr. Hood, a mysterious figure who served as a symbolic representation of societal issues.

Tragically, DJ Subroc passed away in 1993, which deeply affected Zev Love X and led to the disbandment of KMD. Zev Love X went through a period of hiatus and personal challenges but eventually re-emerged on the hip-hop scene with a new identity – MF Doom. Adopting the persona of the metal-faced villain, MF Doom became known for his intricate rhymes, unique delivery, and iconic mask.

Under the moniker MF Doom, Zev Love X released numerous acclaimed solo albums and collaborated with various artists, solidifying his status as a cult figure in underground hip-hop. MF Doom also took on other personas, such as Viktor Vaughn, King Geedorah, and Metal Fingers, showcasing his versatility and creativity in the realm of hip-hop. The use of masks and alter egos added a layer of mystique to his persona, contributing to the enigmatic allure of MF Doom in the world of rap. MF Doom's influence on hip-hop is substantial, and his legacy continues to be celebrated even after his passing in 2020.
